Personal branding is not about self-promotion. It is about building a bridge between who you are and the clients or opportunities you actually want to work with.

In this workshop, personal branding coach and business strategist Kat Elizabeth introduces her VERO framework and the concept of minimum viable magnetism, giving independent professionals a practical, low-pressure approach to building visibility and credibility without burning out or spreading themselves thin.

 Watch the full recording here:

What you'll take away from the session:

  • Why personal branding matters for independent professionals beyond the buzzwords, and the data behind how people make decisions to work with you

  • The VERO framework: Visibility, Evidence, Resonance and Originality, the four fundamentals that underpin any effective personal brand strategy

  • How to identify and work through the mindset blocks (imposter syndrome, fear of self-promotion, feeling like there is nothing new to say) that stop most people from taking action

  • The concept of minimum viable magnetism and why doing less, more consistently, outperforms trying to be everywhere at once

  • Your "onlyness factor": how to articulate what makes you genuinely distinct across personality, perspective, principles, process and path

  • A step-by-step framework for designing your first 90-day magnetism experiment, including what to test, what to track and how to build on results

Whether you are just starting to think about your personal brand or you have been stuck in stop-start mode, this session gives you a clear, practical framework to get moving with confidence.

Hit play and learn how to shift from invisible to magnetic.

What is personal branding and why does it matter for independent professionals?

Personal branding is the intentional work you do to shape how others perceive your expertise, values and approach. For independent professionals, it matters because most opportunities go to those who are visible and trusted, not necessarily the most qualified. When clients or employers cannot distinguish between you and five other candidates with similar CVs, your brand is often the deciding factor.

What is the VERO personal branding framework?

VERO stands for Visibility, Evidence, Resonance and Originality. It is a strategic framework covering the four fundamentals of personal branding that apply regardless of platform or industry. Visibility is about being seen in the right places. Evidence is how you demonstrate your expertise credibly. Resonance is the emotional connection you build with your audience. Originality is how you differentiate yourself beyond simply listing your credentials.

How do I figure out what makes me distinctive if I work in a crowded field?

Your distinctiveness comes from the combination of your personality, perspective, principles, process and path. No one else has exactly your mix of background, experience and point of view, even if your job title looks identical to others. The goal is not to invent something artificial but to articulate what is already true about how you work and who you are.

How long before I start seeing results from my personal branding efforts?

It varies, but 90 days of consistent, focused activity is a reasonable timeframe to start gathering meaningful data. The aim of a 90-day magnetism experiment is not to hit a specific target but to test a hypothesis, track a few simple metrics across audience growth, business outcomes and personal confidence, and use those insights to refine your approach. Some people see results sooner; the key is not to stop before the data tells you anything useful.
